Got to work...can’t do anything
Cant get any work orders coz everyone is locked out of the computers.... passwords expired
Turns out our server wonk is the only one with admin access....and he’s on holiday for 3 weeks
What kinda company only has one person with admin access you ask?
Uhhhh....this one apparently....lol this place is amazing
Welp...guess I'll go find some coffee

I worked a place where I was the only one with Admin access to the infrastructure , it was awful as I never got to take a vacation.
My first day I got walked into the server room showed a small desk and said here’s everything. There was no documentation and they had fired the previous guy so they didn’t even have anything setup to let me in. I had to take over the local admin account on a DC and give myself access. It wasn’t even a small company, they had 500 employees and revenue of 90 million a year.
I worked there a year and a half which was too long. When I quit I ga ve one of the developers and the COO admin access and showed them how to turn mine off and how to give it to whoever they hired to replace me.

About the same as we had here in the boatyard. 10-years ago I put in a nice router and 20dbi antenna which served all 4 acres. Now it’s 12 acres and a dude put in a new router and a couple access points. When I asked him for the passwords he said, “Oh No! I use these for all my stuff and I can’t allow y ou into that.” Huh? What an id10t! So I got with the owner’ s son who is a net dude too and made the 10t write them down and we put them in the site safe just in case. Yea, right. Ripped open the envelope and changed them that night. 10t is a rigging contractor; doesn’t even work for the yard but does know everything...

I didn’t get out quick enough - worked there a year and a half. Should have walked out that first day. They gave me a nice raise over my previous job though.

I once got to work, and the building had lost power. That morning, all the mid and upper level managers were at an internal company conference and one require ment was for all to turn off their phones.
